The people of Montreal are a dichotomy: vibrant, diverse, passionate and creative, but complicated. Montreal has the highest teen suicide rate in North America, is the largest Canadian distributor and consumer of pornography, and is experiencing massive erosion of the traditional family. It is also the least populated city in North America when it comes to those who know and follow Jesus.

Since 2004, God has been working , refining and breaking Chris and Yanci’s hearts for church planting. First He called them to Canada, and then to the great city of Montreal. Their vision was forged in the midst of their ten years as part of the executive staff at one of the largest churches in North America in Dallas, Texas.

A verse that has been particularly impactful for their calling is Jonah 4:11

“And should I not have concern for the great city Nineveh, in which there are more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left.”

They believe that because God passionately pursues lost people and does His best work in the darkness, Montreal is poised to be a strategic city for the renewal of faith in Canada.

Chris and Yanci met at Dallas Seminary after Chris left his home in Ottawa to obtain his master’s in theology and to acquire a country girl from a small town in West Texas. The McGregors have two energetic boys (Sterling and Kingston) who bring joy—and messes wherever they go.
