John & Heather moved to Calgary in the summer of 2009. Having spent the previous 12 years in campus ministry, they sensed God moving them into church planting and watched as God opened the doors of opportunity in Calgary. In September of 2010, they along with a band of folks wanting to launch a new church for the city, started New City Church. From the beginning, they wanted to see a new church planted that proclaimed the gospel of Jesus and embraced the community of Jesus as a community sent on mission with Jesus. Gospel. Community. Mission.

The people of New City Church are learning that we exist for mission and not for comfort, and we long to see more churches planted and more people understand the implications of the gospel of Jesus Christ for themselves. We pray for the city seeking for its renewal as we pray for God’s kingdom to come to Calgary and his will to be done in Calgary just as it is in heaven. We therefore pray for and hope for and expect a new city of Calgary as the Spirit works in this place to draw many to Jesus.
